THE RED-BREASTED NUTHATCH MIGRATES FROM THE BOREAL(PINE/SPRUCE) FORESTS OF N. MINNESOTA TO S.E. MINNESOTA IN EARLY FALL. SOME WILL STAY ALL WINTER AND OTHERS WILL MOVE FURTHER SOUTH. THEY PREFER TO EAT SUNFLOWER SEEDS OFF A FLAT PLATFORM FEED.
