NATURE NOTES OF S.E. MINNESOTA
The photos below, at first glance, appear to be bees, but they are flies that, through protective evolution look like bees for protection. We saw these three species of Flower Flies or Beeflies today at our place. We used some of our past photos, as it is to windy today to photograph.

For years we have kept track of events such as the arrival of the first Hummingbird or the blooming of the first Marsh Marigold.
