In spite of 40 mph winds today we saw two Turkey Vultures glide over our house this morning.

A few Eastern Meadowlarks are up and singing.  As our grasslands and hayfields have been converted to more soybean/corn production and shopping malls we see far fewer Meadowlarks.

Saw our first male Bluebirds on March 8th.  We had 7 along our driveway yesterday.

Two Trumpeter Swans and a White Fronted Goose at iron mine ponds south of Spring Valley , Mn.
The once very rare Trumpeter Swans have made a great come back from near extinction and are doing well.

Checked three eagle nest in our area this week and all three have Bald Eagles sitting on eggs in their nest.

Sandhill Crane at old mine ponds south of Spring Valley, MN.  It is 65 degrees today, but the brief snow and cold froze this area last week and have not seen the crane since-probably moved on.
