Male Purple Finch. We have had Purple Finches on and off all winter, but more have shown up after our last snowfall(10 inches). At least 8 were at the feeder at once this morning.

We have at least 8 Chickadees that come to our feeder at one time. It is hard to get above a count of 8, as they come and go so quickly.

Bobbie got this female Cardinal towards the end of the last ice storm. As soon as the ice was all gone we got 10 inches of snow.

Found another Bald Eagle nest with adults nearby. Three our of Four nest we checked this week had adults close by.

For years we have kept track of events such as the arrival of the first Hummingbird or the blooming of the first Marsh Marigold. We have now begun to photograph these events and felt others may be interested in what we run into in our "nature wanderings".
