Common Yellowthroat on Cup Plant. Had to shoot facing sun, but he spooked when I went to other side. Notice his black face mask which allows this bird to be easily identified.

Giant Swallowtail. An uncommon species in Minnesota, but we have been seeing more of these here in the last few years. This is the first one we have seen this year.

For years we have kept track of events such as the arrival of the first Hummingbird or the blooming of the first Marsh Marigold. We have now begun to photograph these events and felt others may be interested in what we run into in our "nature wanderings".
