Meadow Fritillary on Early Sunflower.  The Meadow Fritillary is about 1/2 the size of a Great Spangled Fritillary shown several posts below.

 Toad.  The last two times we mowed this toad sat on the deck ramp until we finished.  Smart toad ???

 Our Mulberry tree has fruited well for the first time.  The birds seem to like the berries.

 Blue Mud Dauber Wasp.  A very non-aggressive wasp.

 A young dove on our lawn.  It could fly, but not far.

 Least Skipper.  A very small butterfly (3/4 inch).

 Meadow Fritillary.  One of the smallest of the Fritillary family of butterflies.

 Great Spangled Fritillary.

Just had a large hatch of Hackberry butterflies at our place.  It is quite an experience to walk down the sidewalk with two dozen butterflies circling.

 Prairie flower, Hayden Prairie near Lime Springs, Iowa.   Cream Indigo, Yellow Lady's Slipper, and Prairie Smoke.

 Fawn outside kitchen window.  We have also seen a pair of twins close by.
