Redpolls. Found a flock of about 70 Redpolls near our driveway. Redpolls are Goldfinch sized birds that wander south from the Artic and Sub-artic in the winter.

Tree Sparrow. A small, perky winter visitor from up North. Easy to ID by the combination of a dark breast spot and a chestnut colored on top of the head.

For years we have kept track of events such as the arrival of the first Hummingbird or the blooming of the first Marsh Marigold. We have now begun to photograph these events and felt others may be interested in what we run into in our "nature wanderings".
