 Male(blue) and female Green Darners mating.

 

 Female Pondhawk, Female Widow Skimmer, and Male Whitetail Dragonflies. 

 

 Blue Dasher adult Male and Blue Dasher Juvenile Dragonflies.

 

 Bluet Damselfly and Mating Bluets.  Damselflies are smaller, and daintier than Dragonflies.  They also fold their wings up above their bodies when at rest.

 

 Least Sipper on Red Clover.

 Crab Spider stalking an inch worm.

 Sphinx Moth on Foxglove Beard Tongue.

 Fritillary's on Milkweed.

 Buckeye butterfly.

 2 inch diameter wasp nest-not sure of species.

 Red Admiral caterpillars on host nettle plant.  We have hundreds of these caterpillars at our place and should have a huge hatch of Red Admiral butterflies soon.

 

 Yellow Lady's Slipper, Hayden Prairie.

 

 Prairie flowers blooming at Hayden Prairie west of Lime Spring Iowa this week:  Cream Indigo, Small White Lady's Slipper, Prairie Phlox, Puccoon(orange), Golden Alexander, Shooting Star, Toadflax, Yellow Star Grass.
