Male & Female Horned Larks.  These are one of the  the birds that fly up from the roadside in small flocks.  We saw over 100 in a 12 mile roadtrip the other day.

Good to have some sunshine.

 Trumpeter Swans, Whitewater Valley.  50 years ago this swan had been shot out of  Minnesota over the previous 100 years.  Now there are over 50,000 Trumpeters in Minnesota.  A success story, along with Bald Eagles, and Sandhill Cranes.   I wish the same could be said for butterflies and songbirds.
